Shreya Kolkar
JNV Bijapur Karnataka I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I am Shreya Kolakar. My father’s name is Sangamesh Kolakar, and he is a farmer. My mother’s name is Geeta, and she is a homemaker. I have a younger brother, Shivatya, who studies in Class 6. We are a small family. My father is the main leader of our family and takes care of us, while my mother is the backbone of our family.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana is the best platform where students can get one of the best educations. I am very grateful to have received this opportunity. My family background is not very strong, and it is not affordable for us to pay for good coaching and studies for my future education. This scholarship will help me a lot in continuing my studies.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
Currently, my aim is to become a great doctor. I also want to provide social services. I would like to become an IAS officer and serve this country. My plan is to become an oncologist because I want to save many lives and help cancer patients. I also want to build my own house and live a happy life with my parents. I want to guide my younger brother and help him succeed in his life.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
In the future, after becoming a doctor, I want to serve the nation with honesty and truthfulness. As my aim is to become an oncologist, I will try my best to save my patients and treat them well. Apart from curing patients, I will also support people if they are facing financial problems.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
My best motivator is my mother. She motivates me whenever I feel down. My dream is to fulfill my parents’ dreams, and I want to take responsibility for my family. My father always guides me to move forward. My motivation to become a doctor came from a tragic incident. When I was in 2nd standard, one of our senior students was diagnosed with cancer. Our biology teacher told us about that incident on our birthday, and from that day, I decided that I would become an oncologist and save many lives. Our teacher also inspired me a lot.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in dancing, and I love swimming. I also enjoy discovering new things and exploring new places.
