Shourya Santosh Dhumal

JNV Nanded Maharashtra
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
First of all, my father, Santosh Dhumal, is a farmer. He is a disciplined and hardworking person who always teaches us good values and manners. My mother is a housewife, and her name is Jyoti Dhumal. She likes helping poor people and always supports our family with love and care. I also have a brother named Satish Dhumal, who is currently studying in Class 12 and preparing for JEE. He is very caring and has always adjusted his own needs to support me and fulfill my requirements. He enjoys walking in the evening and likes trees, nature, and observing the beauty of the environment.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I belong to a financially weak family. Although I have the ability and determination to study hard, financial limitations make it difficult for me to access proper coaching and guidance. Dakshana provides deserving students with the opportunity to achieve their dreams through quality education and support. If I am not selected, I will continue studying in my parent JNV until Class 12 and then pursue admission to a regular college while continuing to work hard toward my goals.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to fulfill my dreams and serve poor and needy people. I want to become financially independent, complete my parents’ dreams, and make my parents, teachers, and elders proud through my achievements and good work.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
In the future, I would like to provide scholarships to students who genuinely want to study but cannot afford education. I also want to help poor people by providing treatment at low cost and supporting them financially whenever possible. I believe that even small efforts can create a big impact, and I wish to contribute positively to society through education and social service.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
In my village, there was a girl preparing for NEET whose father passed away, and after a few months, her mother also died. She became depressed after losing both parents and her brother. Despite these tragedies, she did not lose hope. She lived in relatives’ houses, worked daily to support herself, and continued her studies by reading old notes and study materials. Through her hard work and determination, she scored 586 marks in NEET 2023 and secured admission to a government medical college. Her journey deeply inspired me and taught me the importance of perseverance and dedication.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobbies include listening to music, watching anime, and playing volleyball and football. I also enjoy watching movies and going for walks in my free time.
