Shivam Singh Dhurve
EMRS Shahpura Dindori Madhya Pradesh I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical college
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are 4 members in my family. My father is the head of the family, my mother, my sister who is 21 years old and I am the fourth member. I am the youngest in my family. My father works as a social worker as well as a farmer. He has studied only till 10th class. My father is my biggest guide. And my mother who is uneducated but aware, is also busy in her work all day long. And my sister who is 6 years older than me is still pursuing her studies.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana selected me and I am very happy about it. When I heard about Dakshana, I also wanted Dakshana to select me because we do not have enough money so that we can go to any coaching institute and take admission. There is no member in the family who is employed and it is difficult to run the house with whatever income we earn. If I had not been selected in Dakshana, I would have definitely tried something so that I could take my dreams to great heights.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is that I become a successful and great doctor in future. I want to serve my country and society by becoming a doctor. If I get the means to study further, then I would definitely like to study further and it has always been my ambition to become like Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar one day. It is difficult to become like him but one can become like him by following the path shown by him.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
If I become an educated and aware or a successful person, then I will educate and make aware the uneducated and backward citizens of my society and country. If I become a doctor, then I will always be ready to help those people who are unable to get treatment in a good hospital due to lack of money and lose their lives. I will try my best to take my country forward. I will definitely make aware those people of the country who are trapped in the trap of hypocrisy and superstition.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are many such incidents in my life which encouraged me to become better and educated. The biggest encouraging incident of my life was when I first heard and read about the maker of the Constitution of the country, Bhimrao Ambedkar and came to know about his life. First of all I was shocked that there was a person who achieved such a great position despite so many difficulties. Since then I have this ambition in my mind that I too can take the country forward like Bhimrao Ambedkar and by following the path shown by him.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interests include spending time with nature, learning about our history and listening to the words written and spoken by Bhimrao Ambedkar. My hobby has always been to know the world. If I have any hobby in sports, it is cricket.
