Sanika Pravin Gaikwad
JNV Wardha Maharashtra I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I am the only child of my parents. Both my mother and father are labourers and I with my maternal grandparents since my parents are separated. My grandfather, who is my legal guardian, worked in a government hospital as a Group-D employee in maleria department. I also have two maternal uncles who do not live with us. One of them is serving in the BSF, while the other works as a supervisor in a textile company.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I believe I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because it will help me fulfill my dream of serving the citizens of our country and helping people in need. Nowadays, many people, especially the younger generation, suffer from anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems but cannot afford proper treatment and therapy. I want to help such people and support them in living a better life. Dakshana can provide me with the right guidance and opportunities to achieve my goals. Even if I am not selected, I will continue studying in my parent JNV and keep preparing for NEET with determination.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to serve people in need. I am inspired by my grandfather, who served people selflessly throughout his life without expecting anything in return or discriminating against anyone. Like him, I also want to dedicate my life to helping people and making them happy by improving their quality of life.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I would like to contribute to society by providing healthcare and mental health support to people at the lowest possible cost, and even free of cost whenever possible. I want every person in the country to have access to basic healthcare facilities because healthcare is a fundamental right of every individual.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There is a friend of mine from my parent JNV who faced many hardships in life. When she was in Class 9, she was bitten by a dog and later went through severe emotional trauma after her father passed away due to mental health issues. Despite losing her family’s support and struggling mentally, she remained brave, scored first in our school in board examinations, and is now preparing for NEET 2027. Her courage and determination deeply inspired me. If she could overcome such difficult circumstances and continue chasing her dreams, then I also believe I can achieve my goals through hard work and perseverance.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My favorite hobby is making sketches and paintings. I also enjoy dancing and reading books such as novels, stories, and psychological thrillers. These activities help me relax, improve my creativity, and expand my imagination.
