Prashansha Rajendra Shivankar

JNV Ahmednagar Maharashtra
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are four members in my family: my mother, my father, my younger sister, and me. My father's name is Rajendra K. Shivankar; his favorite color is white, and he works incredibly hard to ensure a bright future for us. My mother's name is Pratibha R. Shivankar. She used to supervise our studies when we were young, and she cooks delicious meals for us. My younger sister, Prajyoti R. Shivankar, is currently in the 8th grade. She loves playing and drawing pictures together with me. We all reside in the Ahmednagar district. My mama (maternal uncle) lives with his family in Chandrapur, where he works in a private company to earn a living.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I believe I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I am capable of working hard to clear the NEET exam. Given my consistent academic performance and dedication, I am confident I can achieve my goal. If I am not selected as a Dakshana Scholar, I will look for affordable alternative coaching institutes. If that is not financially viable, I will self-study using online and other available resources. However, without proper financial support, there is a chance I might have to pivot away from my dream of becoming a doctor and choose a more affordable career option instead.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a successful doctor and serve society by treating illnesses and promoting healthy living. I want to save lives and contribute toward a healthier India. Specifically, I aim to establish a hospital in my village because residents currently have to travel long distances for medical treatment when they fall ill. Even in emergencies, calling a doctor from outside takes far too long. This critical gap in local healthcare is what inspires my life's ambition.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become a successful doctor, I will treat patients honestly and prioritize saving lives to build a healthier society. I intend to provide free or highly subsidized medical treatment to underprivileged families. Unlike practices driven by financial greed—where unnecessary tests are prescribed for minor ailments—I promise to practice medicine with absolute integrity. Once I am earning enough to secure a comfortable living for myself and my family, I will retain only what is necessary and dedicate the remainder of my income to funding community welfare programs and helping society in every way possible.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I love creative arts, including drawing, painting, and sketching—my absolute favorite subject being natural scenery. I also enjoy reading novels, practicing calligraphy to maintain good handwriting, and dancing. I have an inquisitive nature and a keen interest in learning about new things. In my spare time, I enjoy collecting unique stones, seashells, and antique coins.
