Sangee Saha
JNV Murshidabad West Bengal I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Subhas Saha. He is a labourer. My mother is a housewife, and she is my strength. I have a younger brother, Suday Saha, who is a student. I also have a maternal uncle, Sajal Saha, who is very close to me. He is a teacher—an ideal teacher whose pure heart inspires me to become a good human being.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
The Dakshana Scholarship is one of the best opportunities for children like me from economically weaker sections. Only because of financial issues, I couldn’t prepare for JEE from Class 11. I need this scholarship to get proper guidance. If I am not selected, it will be difficult for me to pursue JEE preparation, and I may join a normal college where I may not achieve my goals.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
Yes, it's true that now I am preparing for JEE, but from the core of my heart I want to become a teacher. Teaching is the master of all professions. Nowadays, it's hard to find an ideal teacher, so I will try my best to become one.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I will definitely help society. I want to open an NGO. Yes, it is tough to manage an NGO, but I will try my best. I want to help poor people especially. I see many beggars on the road. I want to engage them in work they can do so that they can earn and manage their own food.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Among many incidents, I want to share an odd one. Once, I went to a nursing home for my eye check-up. There was an aged man who was constantly requesting something from the staff. Then I came to know that he didn’t have enough money to buy a medical instrument that could reduce his 30-minute operation to 10 minutes. That 10-minute operation was better for him. I also belong to a middle-class family, so I couldn’t help him financially. That incident inspired me to grow and help people. Equity is more important than equality.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am very interested in recitation and drawing. Both of them are acts of expressing thoughts which help me express myself. I also like dance.
