Saif Shaikh
JNV Aurangabad Maharashtra I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father’s name is Bashir, and he is a labourer. My mother’s name is Nurjahan, and she is a housewife. I have one sister who is married. I had two uncles—one passed away due to cancer, and the other died in an accident. I also have three mamas: one works in Nidhi Bank, another is a cab driver, and the last one has a small general store.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think the Dakshana Scholarship is for students who are good in studies but, due to financial conditions, cannot do many things. I am one of them. I can do better if I get a chance. If unfortunately I miss this chance, I will try for different scholarships available for me, and I will definitely do something better within my condition.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to become a doctor and save the lives of as many people as I can. I also want to earn money and use it for good purposes like building a hospital in my village, opening an orphanage, and helping society in many ways.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
First of all, I would like to improve medical services in my village by making a hospital or running different kinds of medical camps. I also dream of building a hospital that is totally free of cost for poor people. I want to open an orphanage for poor homeless children.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was 9 years old, my father had a heart attack. At that time the medical services in my village were not good, so we had to shift my father to another city for better and quick treatment, which was very difficult in that emergency condition. After treatment, he recovered. This incident motivated me to become a good and humble doctor in the future.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I have interest in watching movies, web series, and reading novels. I also like to play cricket, football, volleyball, and other outdoor games as well as chess.
