Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Shimhachalam. He has been working as a carpenter since he was a child. He studied only up to class 4, but he learned to read and write his signature. My mother's name is Nagarathnam. She is a housewife and also works in the farm fields whenever work is available. She is a very hardworking woman and always tries to earn as much as she can by doing any small job available in the village. Both of my parents work so hard that I often worry about the effect it has on their health. Whenever things get tough for me, I think about how hard they must be working and remind myself to work harder. I have an elder brother named Ananth Kumar, who is almost 12 years older than me. He works in a car showroom and always guides and cares for me. My immediate uncles also work as carpenters.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I am poor, and my family cannot afford any coaching courses. If I am not awarded the scholarship, I will try online coaching.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I want to travel and explore the whole world. I want to become a theoretical physicist. I love Maths and Science, and I want to dedicate my life to the pursuit of truth.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I don’t know exactly, but whatever it is, I will try my best to do it.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are many incidents in my life which motivated me, but the most special one is when I checked my JEE Main result. I felt upset, blamed myself, got stressed and depressed. Then my parents came to me, motivated me, and explained that this is not a life-deciding moment. They told me there will be more chances and opportunities, and that they know my potential. Their support motivated me.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like reading books, especially science and history. I read manga a lot, I watch anime and I have a sophisticated taste for cerebral and horror movies. I like going for long walks, especially alone.
