Monika Nadella
JNV Nagpur Maharashtra I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, Mr. Ramarao Nadella, is a farmer. My mother is a housewife and helps my father on the farm. My parents are my biggest inspiration—I learned hard work, resilience, and hope from them. I have a younger brother who is studying in class IX. All my uncles and family members are also farmers. Most of my family lives in a small village in Nagpur. My family is very supportive of every decision I make. Their hopes motivate me to work harder.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
The Dakshana Scholarship is one of the best opportunities for aspirants like me from economically backward families who cannot afford private coaching. I worked hard for JEE for the last two years, but due to lack of proper guidance, I couldn’t get the desired branch in a good NIT. When I was considering joining a GFTI, Dakshana gave me another chance to make my dreams come true. Since this year is my last chance to enter my dream college, I will truly give my best.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to make my parents proud of me and make all the support they’ve given me worthy. After completing B.Tech, I would like to pursue an MBA degree. Once I become economically stable, I would like to contribute back to society in any way possible.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful enough, I would like to contribute to the upliftment of society. Hundreds of rural areas in India, including my own village, lack basic amenities like dustbins, primary healthcare, and water facilities. I want to work on these issues, even if not at a big level. I also want to teach village children the importance of civic sense and belongingness—qualities many people lack.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
In my Class 8th, when I decided to give the lateral entry test for JNV, my father took me to a teacher 30 days before the exam. He asked me some questions in Maths, and I couldn’t answer. Then the teacher laughed at me. Somehow my childish brain got triggered. Maths, which was my weakest subject until then, suddenly became my favourite subject. There started my aspiration for JEE.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I really love reading books and collecting books. Listening to music is also one of my favourite hobbies.
