Mehran Amin Bhat
JNV Anantnag Jammu and Kashmir I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
Let me introduce my family to you. My family consists of myself, my father Mohammad Amin Bhat, my mother Sameena, and my two younger brothers, Sehran and Moomin. They are both students. My father is a farmer and also a contractor. My mother is a housewife who likes taking care of our family. I do not have a chacha, but I have three mamas—one is a government employee, one is a private employee, and one is a labourer. I also have one poofi who is just like my mother.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I belong to a family that truly needs it. I also gave NDST in class 10 but did not get selected, so I understand the value of being chosen by Dakshana better than anyone who was not serious. I will utilise the scholarship to its fullest. If I do not get selected, I already have scholarships from two premier coaching institutes, so I will study in one of them for NEET.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a good doctor and a researcher in the field I choose in the future. But I don’t think one ambition is a lifelong goal because people change a lot over time. So after becoming a doctor, I want to do something memorable for people and improve the lifestyle of ordinary people while treating them.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I want to give back to society. I might start an education hub like Dakshana or launch a healthy food brand, because our country cannot be healthy without focusing on preventive healthcare. As a future doctor, this knowledge will help me contribute better.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are a lot of incidents, but the one I remember is when a student in my school, who was in Class 8 while I was in Class 12, asked me a question from Class 11. I found it difficult but answered it. When I came to know he was only in Class 8, I got fascinated and realised I must do better in my studies to be successful.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I have a couple of hobbies. I like to play video games, sometimes play cricket, and gather knowledge about world history and geopolitics. Whether we accept it or not, these things shape our lives; even a small event far away can shape our future.
