Donthula Mourya Vedha
JNV Adilabad Telangana I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, D. Rajender, is an R.M.P. He completed his post-graduation. He is the only income generator of my family. He likes to spend time with the family, but as I have been in the hostel (JNV) since class 6, he always waits eagerly for vacations or parents’ meetings to meet me. My mother, D. Chandrakala, is a homemaker and has also completed her post-graduation. I mostly spend time with her during vacations. My brother, D. Arya Vedha, is studying in class 10 in a Government school (T.S.W.R.T.S). He likes sports.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think that I am eligible for the Dakshana Scholarship because it is one of the best scholarships in India, offered only to poor and talented students to help them overcome financial problems and succeed in life. Dakshana is making many families shine bright. Dakshana runs on the motto “Give a fish to a man, he eats for a day; but if you teach him how to fish, he will eat forever.” If I am not selected for Dakshana, I will pursue an online course or study from YouTube, as it is affordable, and complete my JEE preparation from home.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
“An arrow without a target and a man without ambition are the same.” So my ambition is to become successful, as society respects money, not people. To make my family feel proud, I want to be successful.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I would help one or two children in completing their total education without any financial burden on their poor families. Or I would choose to donate money to Dakshana Foundation because the fundamental idea of Dakshana and mine matches.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was on vacation, I went for labour work with my father. After two days, my body started to ache. That day, I understood how hard he works to earn money and make us feel satisfied. So, I decided to study well and make my father feel comfortable. Since then, I have been working hard to fulfill this dream. I feel motivated when I remember, “Do not stop when you are tired; stop when you are done.”
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in renewing things that are not in a condition to use or are in bad condition. My hobbies are sports, reading books, listening to music and spending time with friends.
