Deepali

JNV Bagpat Uttar Pradesh
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father’s name is Mr. Narendra Singh, and my mother’s name is Mrs. Anju Devi. My father is a laborer, and my mother is a housewife. We are three siblings—my elder sister, my younger brother, and me. My sister’s name is Jyoti, and my brother’s name is Arpan. My sister is also a Dakshana scholar. She is now in IIT Patna, studying chemical engineering in the second year. My little brother Arpan is four years old and studying in nursery. My father likes to repair household items, and my mother likes to stitch clothes. My father helps people most of the time. My sister likes dancing and reading novels. My brother plays all the time with neighborhood children and is very curious about things, just like my father.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I belong to a middle-class family from Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh. My father cannot afford high-quality coaching like Allen or Aakash. Without Dakshana, I could never dream of becoming a doctor. If I were not a Dakshana scholar, I would study from home and work hard for a better future.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to be a kind person and, after becoming a doctor, to help poor people who cannot afford treatment. I want to fulfill my parents’ dreams and raise our family’s name, so my younger brother never faces such problems.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
After becoming successful in my life, as a doctor I will provide my services to poor people who are not able to get treatment from standard doctors and live in critical conditions due to financial issues. As my parents are always tense about financial problems, I never want anyone else to go through that. I will help people who cannot afford treatment.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are many incidents in my life that inspired me to do better. One incident that I remember hurt me a lot because of our weak financial condition. One day, my father and I went to a temple. Many people came in standard cars, while we went by walking. My father said, “When will the day come when we also come to worship in a car?” That day, I decided I would give a luxury car to my father after becoming a doctor. This motivates me every day to be successful and fulfill his dreams.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobby is reading history books, and I also enjoy dancing and singing. I am interested in writing motivational quotes and poems. I like painting and always want to fill my life with colors like in a painting.
