Prajwal Prakash Kattimani
JNV Dharwad Karnataka I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My name is Prajwal. I belong to a poor family. My father’s name is Prakash and he runs a grocery shop, which is enough to run our family. My mother’s name is Hema and she is a housewife. My sister’s name is Bhavana and she is also studying in JNV Dharwad. All my family members are dependent on me.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I was confused after Class 12 because I had no idea about what to do next. I heard about the Dakshana Scholarship Program in Class 10 and tried my best to qualify, but I was not selected then. I was always curious about Dakshana. Finally, in Class 12, I got the chance to appear for the exam and got selected. It was the best moment of my life. If I was not selected, I had planned to take a drop.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
Actually, my ambition was to become a doctor, which is why I took Biology in Class 11 and 12. But it takes a long time to get a job in the medical field, and because of my family situation, I shifted to engineering so I can get a job sooner and support my family.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become a successful person in society, I will contribute to the development of slum areas and their children. Many children there do not go to school and remain uneducated throughout their lives, but education is very important for survival in this competitive world.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
The incident that motivated me was one of the worst moments of my life. A bank officer came to our house asking my father to pay the loan amount. My father didn’t have the money and requested more time, but the officer refused and shouted outside our house. Somehow my father arranged the money. Another incident was when my uncle sat outside our home to get his money from my father. From these incidents, I understood that money can make or break relationships. Since then I decided to work hard, get a good job, and earn well.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am very interested in watching movies and listening to songs and playing cricket. I am very interested in knowing facts about science. My hobbies include playing and reading business-related books.
