Yamuna Deshmukh

JNV Durg Chhattisgarh
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Mr. Jagmohan Deshmukh. After an accident, he is physically unable to work and is unemployed. My mother's name is Mrs. Malti Deshmukh. She is a nurse by profession. My grandfather, Mr. Bhisham Deshmukh, is a retired bank employee, and my grandmother’s name is Mrs. Bainbai Deshmukh. We are five siblings. My elder sister, Usha Deshmukh, is preparing for the NEET exam. My other elder sister, Lakshita Deshmukh, is preparing for the CGPSC exam. My younger sister, Chetna, is studying in class 11, and my younger brother, Chhagan, is in class 9.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
The Dakshana Foundation is the best coaching institute that helps talented but impoverished students achieve their goals by giving them 100% effort and support. I belong to a middle-class family and dream of becoming a doctor, but I cannot afford world-class coaching facilities. If I am not selected in the Dakshana Scholarship Program, I will still continue dreaming. I will study through online coaching because I have no other option.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
First of all, I want to become a good human being. Apart from this, I want to become not only a good but a great doctor who is always available for poor people and those who need medical help. I want to see that proud moment in my parents’ eyes when I become successful in my life.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful in my life, I will first contribute to my Navodaya and also to the Dakshana Foundation, which has given me all the support in my studies and is the biggest reason for my success. Without this, it would have been very hard for me to achieve my aim. I will always promote NGOs that help people achieve their goals. As a doctor, I will always be ready to support poor people and also create awareness in society about health issues to help them achieve good health.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
My first and greatest inspiration is my mother and my whole family. She works hard for us and never gives up in tough situations. I want to become like her. Whenever I feel demotivated, I think about my mother and feel motivated again. My second inspiration is my elder sister, who is preparing for NEET. She also motivates me. And my last inspiration is me — whenever I think of my hard work in clearing Navodaya, I feel motivated.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like to spend my time with my family and my friends, knowing more about them. I like to spend time with my uncle’s daughter, Vini. Apart from this, I also like reading books, singing, and dancing.
