Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My name is Sumit Diwakar and I’m from Bareilly (U.P). My father’s name is Mr. Lalta Prasad. My family includes many people like my brother, sister, chacha, chachi, and bua. My father is a farmer. We have some land for farming, and he works both on the land and as a labourer. My grandfather and grandmother are very old and weak. My younger brother is 8 years old and studying in a primary school in our village.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I thank the Dakshana Team and Monish Sir for awarding me the Dakshana Scholarship because my family is poor and we cannot afford the coaching fees for JEE preparation. You have given me a chance, and I will do my best to achieve my goal. If I were not selected, I would not lose hope and would continue preparing through self-study.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become successful and help other people who are poor and cannot afford education. In many villages, children work in the fields and lose their future because they are not educated.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
If I get success, I will motivate the people around me and help those who are poor. I will give my best in life to give my family everything they deserve. My family members are very hardworking; they never get anything easily, so I will give them everything.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
My family condition is not good. My background is poor. All are hardworking people. In the winter season, they work at night in the khet, even in very cold weather. This motivates me. Sometimes animals destroy crops, and sometimes natural causes destroy everything. Nothing is gained. I see our freedom fighters who fought for our freedom and great people like Abdul Kalam, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhimrao Ambedkar, etc. They inspire me.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in finding new facts about science and searching for new ideas that are useful for us. I like to watch movies.
