Suman Sidar
JNV Raigarh Chhattisgarh I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
Mr. Laxminarayan Sidar is my father, and he is a farmer. He loves music a lot. My mother’s name is Mrs. Uttara Sidar; she is a housewife and likes to watch TV after finishing her work. I have two siblings. My sister is in class 12 at JNV Raigarh, and my brother is in class 9. Both are younger than me. Neha likes to dance and is very good at singing. Yash is very interested in sports, especially cricket. My grandparents usually spend their time sitting and observing others. My uncle is also a farmer.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana is for talented students from poor backgrounds interested in science but unable to afford coaching. I am one of them. I believe that when we work truly hard, the universe helps us. If selected, Dakshana will not regret choosing me. If not selected, I will still give my best.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ultimate goal is to make my family’s life better, and for this I have chosen the medical field. I would like to be a good doctor and make my parents feel proud.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I would like to help people just like Dakshana is doing. After becoming stable in life, I will contribute by funding NGOs that work for the welfare of the needy. If possible, I would start a new platform with my friends where talented youngsters can fulfil their dreams — not only in science, but also in performing arts, commerce, sports, and other fields.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are many incidents that have motivated me to do better. But the strongest thing is that even though my parents are poor, they still sent all three of us to private school. They are doing their best to educate me and my siblings. So how can I give up? I learnt from the world that being successful is very important.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobbies are painting, singing, writing, imagining stories, spending time with close friends, and playing sports. Additionally, I want to travel to the world’s best places—monuments, mountains, and valleys—and do photography.
