Subhash Ranjan

JNV Samastipur Bihar
I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Basant Kumar. We are farmers. His age is 43 years. I study in Navodaya. My mother's name is Kavita Kumari; she is a housewife. I have one younger brother and one younger sister. My sister's name is Hitanshi; she studies in class 8 in Navodaya. My younger brother is currently in class 5. I have two uncles older than my father—Arun Kumar (elder) and Arvind Kumar (younger). I also have two maternal uncles, Amarjeet Kumar and Bhushan Kumar. My grandfather's name is Shri Ram Lokhan, and my grandmother’s name was Late Gujri Devi.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I believe that if I study at Dakshana, I will be able to prepare well for life. My senior also studied there and said that the atmosphere is very good and all the facilities are available. If I am not able to study at Dakshana, then I will study online due to financial problems, although preparing well from home is very difficult.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My life is about moving forward and living life on my own terms. I am a freeloader in my personal life. My current goal is to study well. I don’t want to work like others—I want to do something different, though I am not fully clear on what it will be. The rest of the life will go on its own way.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become a successful human being, I will work to uplift society mentally. I believe many good people couldn't do much because of a lack of guidance. Today, nothing is more powerful than knowledge.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was selected for JNV, it was the best moment of my life because my father also studied in JNV in his 10th year. He belongs to a Gayatri family and motivates me in spiritual ways too, which helps me stay self-motivated. The second big moment was being selected for Dakshana so I can study well. Since class 10, my dream has been to clear JEE.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like doing any work while listening to songs. I also like social media. I find it interesting to read Dharmagranth and know about religion. I like learning about the world’s major religions. I also have a lot of interest in philosophy and psychology.
