I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT

I am a 17 year old student from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. I have always been a good student and keenly interested in the Sciences. Until 11th standard, I attended the Narsingpur School in Jabalpur. In a class of 40 children, I have virtually always topped the class for as long as I can remember. In 10th grade, I took the CBSE board and secured 80% (High First Class). I am very keen to attend IIT and become an engineer. To that end, I took the Bansal Classes NUCLEUS entrance test and did very well. In order to get prepped for IIT at Bansal, I need to move to Kota, Rajasthan and stay there for a year. The total cost of this would be about Rs. 58,000 ($1380) for Bansal?s fees plus room, board and incidentals. We cannot afford to pay these fees, however, I am very keen to get coached by Bansal and get a solid shot at clearing the IIT JEE that I intend to take in April 2008.

My father was a Pan shop operator (Indian street Tobacco Vendor) and, unfortunately, passed away when I was two years old. My mother is suffering from tuberculosis and not in good health. I have an elder brother who is a 1st year engineering student in Bhopal. Since my father passed away, we?ve lived with my aunt (mother?s sister), Mrs. Kiran Tiwari. She earns about Rs. 8000 ? 10,000 per month ($190-240) as an Insurance Advisor for State Bank of India. My aunt has two children as well, both younger than me. We live in a 2 room rented apartment. My aunt supports both families.
