Shakti Sagar Mallik
JNV Dhenkanal Odisha I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, Charan Mallik, is a farmer. My mother, Baruni Mallik, is a housewife. My brother, Suryakant Dehury, is pursuing B.Com. My mama, Bana Mallik, is an army constable. My chacha, Dola Mallik, is a security guard.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Everyone today aims to become a doctor, and for that they must crack NEET. Students spend lakhs of rupees for coaching. I also want to become a doctor, but due to my family’s financial condition, we cannot spend money on coaching. I have heard a lot about the Dakshana Scholarship from my school alumni. To fulfill my desire and improve my family condition, I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship. If I am not selected, I will apply for Agniveer.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ultimate target is to get a seat in AIIMS and pursue an MBBS degree by cracking NEET 2026 with a good rank and score. After that, I want an MD degree to become a cancer specialist.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
As I belong to an economically unstable background, after becoming successful, my target will be to help needy people and uplift the condition of poor people in society. It will be my concern that everyone gets their basic needs and leads a healthy life. Students like me from poor backgrounds do not get enough freedom to complete their education, but because of NGOs like Dakshana, they can achieve their dreams. I would be happy to help them.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There is no special incident that has motivated or inspired me. The best motivation and inspiration I get is from my parents and their advice. They are well experienced and know about good and bad, so their advice becomes a boon for me. My brother also helps me during my low times. He always says what he has done, I should not repeat. His mistakes along with mine are good teachings for me. I also follow Sir Ratan Tata as my idol.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am an enthusiast of video gaming. I love to play games and I read novels of Paulo Coelho, Durjoy Datta, etc. I would like to be a full-time doctor and part-time gamer if I get the chance.
