Sateesh Kumar
JNV Mahoba Uttar Pradesh I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father is a labour. He generally goes to Delhi for a couple of months to earn money by doing construction work. My mother is also a labourer. She is the one who inspires me to stay consistent in life. We are two brothers. I am the elder one. My younger brother Ashish is a student in class 12 from the Arts stream, and I think he is performing well in his academics.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I do not have enough resources to afford coaching and accommodation expenses. I am sure that if I do not get selected, I may have to leave my studies or take an education loan. My parents are not capable of paying such a huge amount.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My temporary ambition is to be a doctor and make my family stable economically. But my long-term ambition is big — I want to develop such medical infrastructure that no one dies due to lack of medical facilities.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I have seen many talented students in my village who never got the chance to do better in their lives. I want to guide such students and help them stay on the right path.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There come many situations in my life which motivate me to do better. For example, when I came to know about Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who started life by selling newspapers and became the President of India, it stuck in my mind that anyone can achieve anything. Beyond all this, my mother is the ultimate source of motivation for me.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interest is watching movies and reading books. I am also interested in doing craftwork.
