Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I'm Raj Biswas. My father is a mason by profession. My mother is part-time tailor, she has a little home business. I spend most of the days of the year at my maternal grandparent's home. I have two maternal uncles, who are not yet settled. They are searching for a livelihood. I'm the only child to my parents. We use to have our meal together and that's the best feeling I've ever experienced.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I do really think that I should be awarded the scholarship. There are many needy students across the country who couldn't express themselves due to lack of opportunities and I'm not different from them. Dakshana brings a golden opportunity to the students like us.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
This is true that I'm studying for NEET, but being a doctor isn't my my real aim. It may be considered as a path through which I could achieve my goal. I know what are the problems that people like us face, I know about their miseries. That's why my aim is to help them with my everything.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
If I become successful, I will not let others face the problems that I've faced. I will take the minimum amount of money needed for my livelihood, then I will conduct free check-ups for them or I would charge them very less amount. I do want to set-up a hospital in my village to help the poor.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
At class 11 ,I had a biology tutor. Once, he told us about his life. He is a student of AIIMS. Once I had asked him, why is he teaching still. he told me his aim is not only to be a doctor but to create a group of doctors who would jointly work to contribute to the society. That's why he is teaching us so that we can also become doctor and help him in his megaproject. The thing that motivated me the most is, he is physically disabled. This forced me to think that if he could think like this then why not I.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobby is painting and reading story books. I'm an ardent fan of reading story books.
