Pritish Deshi
JNV Nalanda Bihar I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Prem Chand Deshi. He is a farmer. My mother's name is Chandana Pramanik Deshi. She is an ICDS worker and manages our family very well. My elder brother's name is Partha Deshi; he is doing his graduation. I have two uncles who are farmers and earn their livelihood through farming.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana provides scholarships to needy and determined students, and I believe I fall under this category. I am confident that I can work hard with full dedication to achieve my goal with the help of this scholarship. If Dakshana does not provide me the scholarship, I will continue my preparation through self-study and online content, as my parents cannot afford offline coaching.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a successful doctor. I want to be a neurologist. After achieving my goal, I want to fulfill my parents’ dreams, for which they have sacrificed so much. I want to serve the people of this country, especially those suffering due to poor medical facilities, by giving them quality treatment.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
After becoming successful, I want to help people living in backward societies who lack basic needs and medical facilities. I will teach people how to avoid sickness by managing personal and environmental hygiene. I will try to build hospitals in areas far from main cities and provide free quality treatment. I also want to provide jobs to poor people.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was selected for JNV, I went to the hospital for my medical fitness checkup. A patient bitten by a snake came there, but before receiving proper treatment he died in front of me. Later I heard that he was from a far village that lacked a hospital. That day I understood the importance of a doctor and decided to be one. My village also lacks a proper hospital, and we have to travel far. After becoming a doctor, I want to change this situation.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobby is reading reality-based stories and watching and playing sports. I have a huge interest in cricket and geopolitics. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also love to watch fiction-based movies and learn about the beautiful creatures of Earth.
