JNV Chandigarh Chandigarh I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I belong to a middle-class family. We are four members—my father, Mr. Sunder Lal; my mother, Mrs. Rekha; my younger sister, Shreshtha; and me. My father works as a private employee. He likes exploring new things and sketching. My mother is a homemaker who enjoys gardening and spending time with us. My younger sister likes studying and enhancing her skills.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I like studying and improving my knowledge. In the past few years, I realized how education can change the future of a family. Due to a shortage of money, I believed my family could not afford the high fees for my higher studies. But Dakshana has given me a golden chance to study in my dream college according to my interest. If I am not selected as a Dakshana Scholar, I will prepare for JEE through online batches, videos, and the books given by my school.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I am deeply interested in public associations that help people rise through sports and education. I also studied in an NGO while preparing for JNVST. Just like Dakshana, they prepare students from lower backgrounds for better education. Dakshana has also given me a platform to improve myself and prepare for JEE. I want to be an aeronautical engineer and inspire students in my society. I want to be the first engineer in my whole family.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
Firstly, I will encourage students to stay connected with these programs and scholarships.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Due to shortage of money in past years, I thought I could never study in IIT. I was selected for Dakshana in class 10, but I didn't get selected then. This made my thoughts of not studying in IIT grow even more. But I started preparing for the JDST in class 12. When the JDST results were declared, I felt hope again, which grew stronger after becoming a Dakshana scholar.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am deeply interested in sports, sketching and hiking.
