JNV Chitradurga Karnataka I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
We are seven members in the family. My father is a farmer. My mother studied up to class 10 and is a housewife. I have one elder sister who is in the 3rd year of B.Sc Nursing in a government college. Two of my sisters study in a residential school—one in class 8 and one in class 6. My younger brother is in class 5 and preparing for JNVST. My grandmother also lives with us and is very supportive.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Being a middle-class girl, it is difficult to reach my goal. I have dreamt of becoming a doctor since childhood. I have worked a lot for this, and now Dakshana is supporting me along with my parents to fulfill my dream. If I am not selected, my parents will face a huge financial burden as our family is economically unstable and depends entirely on my father’s income.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I want to become a successful person in my life. I want my parents to feel proud of their daughter. By becoming a doctor, I want to contribute something meaningful to society.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
As a doctor, I would like to give free treatment to people who are unable to pay. I would also like to start or support an educational institute like Dakshana or Sadhana to provide free education to children.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
While travelling to Dakshana Valley, I saw small children roaming in traffic asking for food. They should be in school asking teachers their doubts. I felt guilty because they didn't get any opportunity, while we waste our time gossiping and not studying properly. It made me think that if I had studied more seriously, I would have been in medical college this year itself — but now I can and will do better.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in reading books and playing chess, offline games, and reading novels. My hobbies are dancing, singing, and Bharatanatyam.
