Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, Nongmaithem Ratankumar Singh, works as a farmer. Even though our family income is low, he has always tried his best to provide us with a good education. My mother, Nongmaithem Binamani Devi, is a homemaker. Although she is illiterate, she has always supported us and guided us toward the right path. My brother, Nongmaithem Malemthoiba Singh, is currently studying in Class 9 at a government school.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
sincerely believe that I deserve the Dakshana Scholarship because I have a strong desire to gain the best knowledge and education that will help me achieve my dream of becoming a doctor. Despite my family’s financial difficulties, I have remained determined to continue my studies. This scholarship would bridge the gap between my aspirations and the resources I need to achieve them. However, even if I am not selected, my determination to become a successful doctor will remain unwavering.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a successful doctor and dedicate my life to helping people in need. I want to provide proper healthcare and make a positive impact on society. I aspire to empower communities and work for people living in rural areas who lack access to healthcare facilities.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
Growing up in a poor background, I have always wanted to contribute to society in every possible way. After becoming a doctor, I would first make myself capable of providing for the needs of my family, locality, and town in various ways. I will start supporting educational initiatives for young students and work for the physical, mental, and social well-being of people. My ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone receives the best support and care possible.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
I used to be a quiet child and often stayed alone. One day, I made my mother cry because I broke the only egg we had to eat with rice, as we did not have enough money to buy anything else. That day, I promised myself that I would do whatever was necessary to make my mother happy and make everyone proud of me. Our family has faced many struggles, and I decided to turn every weakness into strength.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in dancing as well as playing kho-kho and indoor games.
