JNV Baksa Assam I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Pradip Haloi. He is a shopkeeper and also a farmer. He is 8th pass, so he wants to give us the best education. My mother's name is Ulupi Haloi. She is a homemaker and supports me and my brother very much. My brother's name is Sujit Haloi, and he is currently pursuing his B.Tech from IIT Guwahati in the M&C branch. I have three uncles—one of them has a government job, and the other two are small businessmen.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think I should be awarded the Dakshana scholarship because I have a goal in my life and a strong will to achieve it. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal and give back to my parents for what they have done for me. I will work hard and prove my worthiness for this scholarship. If I were not selected for the Dakshana scholarship, I would have attempted entrance tests of other coaching institutions, and if I had received a scholarship there, I would have gone there to prepare for IIT JEE.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a successful and responsible engineer and also a reputed man in society. I want to provide for my parents and future generations what my parents could not provide for me. I want my parents to live a wealthy lifestyle in their old age.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I want to work to make the lives of poor people easier. I want to make the world a better place where poor people also get opportunities to do something in their lives. I want to bring the world together where everyone can live in peace.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
An incident that motivated me happened when I went to JNV for the first time. I was amazed by the facilities students were receiving and was proud to be one of them. I was very motivated to do my best and achieve further success in life.

My hobbies are singing, reading storybooks, playing cricket, and traveling.
