I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father is a simple farmer who works on our own land. He always motivates me to study and says that education is the only way to improve our family’s financial status. My mother is a homemaker and a very emotional woman. I have two sisters — one elder and one younger — both studying in Bihar Government +2 High School. I have often heard that being a girl is a burden on a father, but I see my sisters as goddesses in human form.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I qualified for the Dakshana entrance exam (NCST) and meet all the eligibility criteria, including poverty. I have the capability and motivation to achieve my goal if I receive financial and emotional support. Dakshana provides this kind of support, so I will always be grateful to the Dakshana Foundation and its team, especially Mohnish Pabrai Sir. If I am not selected, I will go for online classes.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to be well-educated, improve my family’s financial condition, and contribute to the field of science. I want to give my father everything he has ever wished for. My native area is educationally and technologically backward, mostly inhabited by Scheduled Tribes. I want to develop my area and dedicate myself fully to my family and country in the service of justice and goodness.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I will help the poor and support trusts and foundations like Dakshana, so that talent in our country is not suppressed due to financial issues. I also want to invent helpful gadgets to develop our Earth and explore other forms of life in the universe.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
My elder brother Raja Bhaiya secured first division in class 12 science from BSEB Hindi medium. He went for a diploma in mechanical engineering at Jawaharlal Polytechnic College, Hyderabad, but failed in the last semester due to weak English and drawing skills. Society mocked him, but he later cracked the Railway exam and now works in Indian Railways at Gonda Junction. I learned two lessons from this: choose a path according to your potential and interests, and never fear failure — consistency and motivation are the keys to success.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy solving mathematical and logical problems. I also like listening to Bhojpuri folk songs (free from vulgarity) which energize me.
