Loman Raji Tamin
JNV Upper Subansiri Arunachal Pradesh I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, Daklo Duku Raji, is a farmer from Arunachal Pradesh. We cultivate only rice. My mother is a caring housewife. Our family has 8 members—my parents and we 6 siblings. I am the only son in my family, and all my sisters are currently studying. My maternal uncles are also farmers.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded this scholarship because I have the potential to see far beyond my current circumstances. If I was not selected for Dakshana, I would have taken a one-year drop in my home state and tried my best to crack NEET. Till now I had not decided what to do if I was not selected; I just had a strong intuition towards my goal that I am going to make it count.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ultimate goal is to be a great person — a world-class doctor.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I am a student from a very backward and underprivileged state where studies have very little importance. I have observed the despair among people, even in my generation. Therefore, I want to spread awareness about nation building. I want to initiate a program like Dakshana to guide misguided people.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
I was an average student till 10th grade and had zero motivation for studies. Over time, I realized the power of education to stay one step ahead. When I started studying seriously, my peers were not happy and tried to put me down, calling my hard work “luck.” This made me self-motivated to do better.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interests are observing human behavior and coming to my own conclusions. My hobbies are talking, singing, visiting new places, and learning their history.
