Kunal Naktode
JNV Chandrapur Maharashtra I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are four members in my family—my father, my mother, my younger sister, and me. My father is a very hardworking farmer and is passionate about gardening and cooking. My mother is a homemaker and also works in the fields. She likes to travel and is fond of sewing clothes. My younger sister is in class 10, and she loves singing and dancing. My mama is a shopkeeper and a very hardworking and humble person.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think I am the one who needs it the most because I have the potential to crack the JEE. But my parents cannot afford the coaching fees for my preparation. Hence, I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship. If, by God’s will, I am not selected, I will start preparing for JEE from home through online modes.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I aspire to become an astronaut. From childhood, I have been very fond of space, stars, meteorites, and various kinds of space activities. Just like Neil Armstrong, who was the first man to mark his footprints on the moon, I also want to become the first man to step on the surface of Mars.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I will make a cost-effective mobility solution for temporary paralyzed patients so they can live their lives to the greatest extent and explore the world they wished for. Along with this, I will arrange counselling programs for our society and help people understand the importance of education in a student’s life, motivating them to become respectful citizens.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Before reaching 11th class, I was a very shy and timid boy who could not speak in front of a large group. But because of my academic excellence and overall personality, I was chosen as the School Captain. On the first day, I had to give commands in the assembly, but I got scared and couldn't raise my voice. However, I didn’t lose hope. I took it as a challenge and worked hard on my confidence. Within a week, I was able to give commands boldly, and my stage fear completely disappeared.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I have many hobbies including playing badminton, cricket, volleyball and table tennis. I am also highly interested in music and like playing tabla and congo. I also like reading adventurous novels and stories such as Harry Potter, Vega Jane and The Hidden Hindu.
