Krushna Rohidas Sonwane

JNV Parbhani Maharashtra
I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Rohidas Sonwane. He is a labourer. His daily life is to do labour work. He likes to educate me and my brother and see us in good positions in the future so that we will not face any problems in our lives. My mother's name is Shivnanda Sonwane. She is a housewife. She does housework and is not well educated, but she wants to see me and my brother well educated. My brother's name is Shrikant Sonwane. He has passed 12th and appeared for the NEET exam but was not satisfied with his score, so he is repeating from an online coaching platform PW. My maternal uncle does farming for a living.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think Dakshana is proper and best for my JEE and 12th studies because my financial condition is not good enough to afford private coaching fees. Here in Dakshana, I can perform better than my potential, so I think Dakshana can change my life and my family’s condition. If I am not selected for Dakshana, I will go to my parent JNV for further studies or attend local coaching with very low fees.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to become a successful engineer and person in my life and contribute to my nation in my field. As I am selected for Dakshana, I will try to get into a good engineering college to complete my engineering so I can reach a position that allows me to do something for my nation, my family, and Dakshana as well.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful in my life, I will do something for my society that will be helpful, such as supporting the education of poor children who cannot afford school fees, just like Dakshana is doing. I will also try to make new inventions to contribute to my nation.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
One day in Navodaya, during the nightly roll call conducted by our housemaster Vishal Sir (who was also our chemistry teacher), he told me that I sit with toppers but am not a topper. That motivated me to study. Also, my father motivates me about education through his real-life experiences, which inspire me a lot. My financial condition also motivates me to study.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interest is in playing volleyball. My hobbies are reading books, storybooks, and books like *Ikigai* and *Atomic Habits*. I also like to sketch. I have equal interest in all three subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics—till 10th.
