I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
We are a family of five. My father is a hardworking farmer. My mother is a housewife who loves taking care of us. My elder brother, Harish Ratrey, is currently pursuing graduation. My younger brother, Aman Ratrey, is studying in Class 10. He loves playing sports and has also played nationals in judo. Both my mother and father love gardening. On weekends, we like to visit our farming fields, spend time there, play, and do field work. My uncles are farmers; two of them are teachers and the rest are labourers.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
As the motto of Dakshana is to provide education and guidance to needy and underprivileged children from remote corners of India who dream of becoming doctors or engineers but cannot afford costly coaching fees, I believe I am one of them. If I am not selected, I will continue my preparation on my own or through online courses because my father cannot afford high-fee coaching.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to clear the medical entrance exam (NEET), pursue MBBS, and fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor. I want to open my own charity hospital where the deprived, economically weaker families and needy people can get high-quality medical facilities. I will also try to provide medical services in remote areas.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I believe I will be successful when I can contribute to society by fulfilling my vision of providing basic health facilities to every remote corner of my locality. I will teach and instruct people about first aid and basic health precautions by organizing health camps, and I will try to develop health facilities for society.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was young, I had a severe head injury. My parents rushed me to the hospital, but there were no medical staff to attend to me for hours. Another incident was my Nana ji’s death due to a heart attack. He was conscious for two hours but could not receive treatment because no doctor or ambulance was available. That day I decided to become a doctor.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My hobbies are reading novels and books, and making art and crafts. I like watching anime, especially “One Piece.” I also love photography, exploring, and traveling to new places like mountains and forests.
