JNV Faridkot Punjab I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are five members in my family: my father, mother, two siblings, and me. My father is a labourer who works on a daily-wage basis. He is a hardworking person and does not want his children to struggle the way he did. My mother is a housewife, and she also does tailoring work. My elder sister is four years older than me and is not applying for graduation. My younger sister studies in the 11th standard. My parents are very supportive and never pressure us into doing anything against our wishes. Therefore, I am very happy with my family.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana is a platform for students who aspire to study in medical colleges but cannot afford expensive coaching. The selection test conducted by Dakshana is of a very high standard. I want to become a doctor, so I work very hard to clear this test and study at Dakshana. I am very thankful to Dakshana for giving me this opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor. Since I belong to a poor family, my parents cannot afford expensive coaching fees. If I had not been selected for Dakshana, I would have continued my education in the 12th standard and tried my best to achieve my dream through self-study and other available resources.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
First of all, I want to give a better life to my parents, as they are struggling for me. I want us to become good and responsible citizens of our nation. I want to become a doctor because I wish to serve the people of my country. I have seen that hundreds of people die every day because they cannot afford proper medical facilities. Therefore, I want to help them in every possible way.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
India is a vast country with a large population. Every day, hundreds of people die because they cannot afford proper medication. When a person dies, it affects not only that individual but also their family, relatives, and loved ones. As a doctor, I want to contribute to society and my nation through my medical skills. I want to help people who suffer from diseases and prevent unnecessary deaths. Even if I can save one life, it will bring happiness to many people connected to that person.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
My father is my greatest mentor. He has always motivated me to do better in every field. One day, my father became seriously ill and had to be admitted to the hospital for almost a week. During that time, my family was very worried and stressed. After he recovered, he told me and my sisters that when we become doctors, no one should suffer from such diseases without treatment. That incident deeply affected me. I realized that illness affects not only the patient but also the entire family. Since then, I have wanted to become a doctor and contribute to society through my medical knowledge and skills.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interests and hobbies include reading novels, especially detective stories, medical books, mythology, and thriller stories with happy endings. I also enjoy listening to music because it relaxes my mind and makes me feel energetic.
