Dilraj Meena
JNV Dausa Rajasthan I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father, Mr. Indrraj Meena, is a farmer, and farming is the main income source of our family. My mother, Smt. Batto Devi, is a housewife and also helps in farming. She also feeds the buffaloes and likes to keep the house clean. My brother, Pankaj Kumar Meena, is a college student doing B.Ed. He is also preparing for exams like SSC GD, SSC CGL, and RPF. My maternal uncle works in the railway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I belong to a poor family. My parents do not know much about education. The students in my neighborhood also do not have any jobs. I want to be an IITian in my life and want to see my family happy and rich. I don’t have money to join any coaching for study. If I weren’t selected, then I would study in my parent JNV and do self-study for JEE Main and Advanced because teachers there don’t teach well.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I want to be an engineer in my life. I want to see my family happy, living in good conditions, and in a big house compared to now. I want to give back much more than what they gave me. I want to get respect in my village.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful in my life, I will help the students of my village and others by sharing knowledge about IIT and competitive exams and how to prepare for them. I would also help people living on roads by donating money and providing basic necessities.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was in ninth class, we returned from migration. On our way home, my father met with an accident, but fortunately, he did not get seriously injured. However, he couldn’t work for some time, and my family suffered. We lived in a house not properly made of concrete, with only one room for four people. During the rainy season, my mother worked very hard to feed the buffaloes. That situation motivated me deeply.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in playing cricket and football. My hobby is playing football. I like learning new things, but I learn slowly, which is my weakness.
