Devavrat Prajapati
JNV Siddharth Nagar Uttar Pradesh I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father is a farmer. He is well-educated (postgraduate). Now he works on our own land (1 bigha) and feeds us. He supports me, my brother, and my sister in our studies. He saves money to buy books for us. My mother is a housewife. She is 8th passed, honest, and hardworking. She does housework as well as farm work. She also encourages us to study. My brother is now studying at NIT Patna (B.Tech in Civil Engineering). He teaches me not only academics but also life lessons. My sister is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and is now in her 2nd year.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I belong to a very poor background. My father can't afford any coaching institute fee for JEE preparation. I am unable to use my full capability in my parent JNV because of the lack of coaching for JEE. If I am not selected for Dakshana, I will study in my parent JNV and continue in my drop year through online classes.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a good civil engineer and earn enough money to serve my parents perfectly. I want to give them a comfortable life because they helped and supported me to become a civil engineer. I want to do B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a reputed IIT.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I will open a school with minimum fees because, in my area, there is no good school and private ones charge very high fees. I want to provide a better educational environment for local students. Those who cannot afford fees will get free education. I will also support my society financially.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
I have seen many incidents in my life that inspired me to do better. Once, I went to the market with my father to buy clothes. I chose something, but my father asked the shopkeeper to pay later, and he refused. We are still living a very simple life. My father uses a cycle for daily travel. My poor family condition motivates me the most to work hard and change it soon.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in studying and learning new things. I also love cricket, both playing and watching it. I also enjoy listening to old songs.
