Billa Mani Chandana

JNV Rangareddy Telangana
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
Ours is a nuclear family of three—my father (Billa Venkat Narsimha Reddy), my mother (Billa Kalpana), and myself. My father's occupation is driver, and my mother is a housewife. We don't have connections with immediate uncles. My parents want me to become independent and successful in whichever field I choose. They like to live their lives with morals and ethics, as they always do.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
Dakshana is a non-profit organization that supports talented students from low-income backgrounds. I think I deserve to be a Dakshana Scholar as I possess all the required qualities, and I am confident I will bring laurels to the institute. If I am not selected, I will prepare for competitive exams through self-study.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become a surgeon. This is not something I acquired recently; it has been my ambition since childhood. Maybe when I was 5, I decided to become a doctor and help society in whatever way I can.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
Society has given me much. I am studying in a Central Government school since my 1st class, so it has given me a lot indirectly. I owe to it. When I become a successful doctor, I will help the needy with basic necessities and medical support. I will not be corrupt. I will serve my nation as a doctor with ethics, and if possible, I will try to invent or discover something that could help the nation or even the world.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Once my father visited a relative. The uncle asked what I wanted to become. My father said I wanted to be a doctor. The uncle sarcastically replied that not everyone can be a doctor and that I should not waste time imagining big things. When my father told me this, I was deeply hurt. I want to prove that no one has the right to judge someone’s potential. My family situations also motivate me to work harder.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like reading sci-fi books and novels and watching movies. I frequently participate in STEM quizzes like VVM, Gujarat STEM Quiz, and Olympiads, and I have won many prizes at the state and national levels. My hobbies are playing badminton, reading novels, and watching cartoons.
