Anshuman Acharya
JNV Sonepur Odisha I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father's name is Prahallad Acharya. My mother's name is Gitanjali Acharya and my sister's name is Ankita Priyadarashini Acharya. We live in Gandabahal, in Ulunda block of Sonepur district. My father is a small farmer. My mother is a home maker and my sister studies in a government school 8n class 9th.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I think I should be awarded the dakshana scholarship because in spite of having a good academic record and enthusiasm, I can't go for a coaching to prepare for such competitive exam for IIT. The syllabus of IIT JEE being very tough, I tried to prepare myself along1 with boards. Our school was also lacking techers due to lockdown and somehow I managed to score a good percentage in the boards. In JEE Mains also during the last days of my preparation, at home, I ended up scoring approx 96.3 percentile and 57 marks in JEE Advanced. Therefore if I got a scholarship, I would try my best to give the best possible result from my side for me and dakshana. If I am notq selected, I have non other chance than to take admission in a small college in our area and my dream would remain a dream till the last.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to be a scientist and pursue further studies in renowned University after getting graduated from IIT. This seems a day dream only1, but I will try my best to the last for it.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I would like to return all the positivity to the society acquired from it. I am very much inspired by the founder of Dakshana, Manish sir. The work he is doing for the society is very rare. I would also try to give my best for the betterment of the society like him after I become successful.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
To be honest, the lockdown has changed me. When I was in JNV, far from my home, I was not much awared of my family conditions. Because of some internal injury my father's leg got severely injured and whole of our family were unable to gather the required amount of money for better treatment. Our relatives not being with us because of poverty worsened the condition. That incident has motivated me to do better than ever.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
From my childhood I was passionate about science and adventures, I also like to paint, play games, both outdoors and indoors, etc.
