Darshika Singh

JNV Ambedkar Nagar Uttar Pradesh
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My father’s name is Mr. Brijesh Kumar Singh. He is a farmer and likes staying busy in the fields. My mother, Sandhya Singh, is a housewife. She is very passionate about teaching and also likes narrating poems. My brother, Devansh Singh, is currently studying in high school and wants to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. He is very fond of playing cricket. We all live together with my grandparents.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
When I was in 8th standard, I came to know about the Dakshana Scholarship, and from that moment I decided to become a Dakshana Scholar. I have studied very hard to achieve this goal. I am passionate about becoming a good doctor, but my family does not have a strong financial background to afford expensive medical coaching. Dakshana is the best platform for students like me who are willing to gain knowledge and achieve their dreams. If I am not selected, I will continue to study even harder to achieve my goals.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition is to serve my country as a good doctor. I want to work for people who cannot afford proper medical treatment and who lose their lives because of poverty. I also want to help mentally unstable people and support them in living better lives. Along with this, I want to dedicate all my achievements and happiness to my family.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
After becoming successful, I would like to help needy and poor people with my medical knowledge and efforts. I want to contribute to the betterment and welfare of my country and its citizens. I also want to open a mental trauma centre where people suffering from emotional or mental issues can heal and recover from painful incidents and depression.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When I was in 6th class, I heard about the NEET examination and learned about its toppers through interviews. Their success stories inspired me deeply. When I discussed my dream with my parents, they made me understand that although the journey would be difficult, hard work and dedication could make a person successful. I was also inspired by doctors who save many lives every day. Many people told me that girls are not meant to become doctors and that nursing would be a better option. To prove them wrong, I became even more determined to achieve success and give my best effort.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I am interested in psychology and very fascinated by writing and narrating stories. I also enjoy playing games and spending time with my family, which is what I like the most.
