I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
Mine is a small nuclear family comprising four members: my father, mother, sister, and me. My father’s name is Arjun Rao. He is a security guard and likes to spend time with us. My mother’s name is Adilaxmi. She is a housewife and likes pooja and visiting temples. My sister’s name is Meghana. She is studying in 9th class at our local school and likes to play with small kids. My maternal uncle’s name is Harish. He lives in Tegada, a small village in Kasimkota Mandal. He is a labourer (bricklayer).

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I regard Dakshana as a scholarship for brilliant but underprivileged students who aspire to attend a medical college but cannot afford coaching provided by world-class institutions. My situation is similar to theirs. I have faced many financial challenges since childhood. Therefore, I am determined to become a Dakshana Scholar so that I can reduce the financial burden on my parents and study in a good institution. If I am not selected as a Dakshana Scholar, I will analyze where I went wrong and try for another institution like Avanti.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I want to become a doctor (gynecologist). Since childhood, I have made a perfect plan to achieve this goal. Initially, I was determined to secure a seat in JNV, and I succeeded. Then, I became determined to earn a Dakshana scholarship. My future plan is to secure a seat at AIIMS Delhi. After completing my MBBS, I want to specialize further. To achieve all these goals, I work hard with strong determination and willpower.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
As a responsible citizen, I want to become an asset to our country. My aim is to become a doctor. After that, I want to provide free medical services to underprivileged people and supply essential medicines to remote villages. Besides this, I also want to build an old-age home and give elderly people a way to live happily. I have seen the deaths of my grandmother and uncle due to a lack of proper treatment. Therefore, I am determined to build a hospital that provides free services to selected poor people.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
In my opinion, a single incident cannot motivate or inspire a person. Motivation begins from one incident and continues through a series of emotional experiences. During my childhood, my father was unemployed, and we faced many financial difficulties. Since then, I have been determined to become a doctor without becoming a burden on my parents. The hard work of my father and the difficulties faced by my mother have strengthened my determination, confidence, and willpower.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
like reading detective and thriller novels, listening to soothing music, playing with my sister, gardening, and dancing. I also like learning new things and exploring different ideas.
