Farida Batool

JNV Kargil Ladakh
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are five members in my family, including me. My family consists of my parents, my elder brother, my younger sister, and me. My father is a farmer, and my mother is a housewife. My brother is pursuing his graduation, and my younger sister is studying in Class 7.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
These days, coaching for competitive exams has become very important in society, and many people believe that without coaching it is difficult to prepare properly for such exams. I belong to a poor family and cannot afford expensive coaching. Even if I somehow manage to join another coaching institute, it may not provide the same quality of guidance and support as Dakshana. Therefore, I believe the Dakshana Scholarship would help me achieve my goals more effectively. If I am not selected, I will still continue studying hard and preparing for my future.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
I want to become a doctor, not just an ordinary one, but a doctor whose name brings relief and trust to patients. I want patients to feel comfortable and safe while talking to me so that they can freely share their problems without hesitation.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
I have grown up seeing the lack of doctors and proper healthcare facilities in our local hospitals and health centres. Many people have to travel long distances to consult good doctors, and some cannot even afford the expenses, forcing them to spend their life savings on treatment. I want to become someone who can make healthcare affordable and accessible for people in villages and nearby areas.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
One of the most motivating moments in my life was during the release of my exam results, when I scored much better marks than expected. Seeing the happiness on my parents’ faces because of my success made me realize that their happiness is one of the greatest gifts I can give them. Since then, I have wanted to work harder and achieve more so that I can continue seeing them proud and happy again and again.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I do not have any very specific hobbies, but I enjoy writing about my experiences and thoughts. I also like singing and dancing in my free time.
