I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
There are eight members in my family. My father's name is Resham Singh. He is a farmer who supports his daughter's education, due to which I am studying while other girls in our locality used to get married at the age of 18/19 because their parents thought it is the best way to settle their daughter. My mother is a housewife and I have three younger siblings and loving grandparents.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I should be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship because I have qualified the Joint Dakshana Selection Test and aspire to attend a medical college. I have the capability and I meet the criteria. If I am not selected, I will try for another scholarship to continue my higher studies.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to give a better living to my parents. My father is a farmer who works hard throughout the year despite health issues because he believes I am the one who will support our family of eight.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful in my life, I will surely contribute to organisations like Dakshana for the betterment and upliftment of society. I will inspire students like me who are capable and aspire to attend engineering/medical colleges but lack resources and belong to economically weaker sections.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are certain incidents that inspired me to do better, but the one thing that inspired me the most is my father’s trust in me. He always says, “You will do it, I know.”

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like diary writing, listening to music, and traveling. I like spending my leisure time with my family members, especially my siblings.
