Atmakur Sahasra

JNV Nagarkurnool Telangana
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
My family consists of six members excluding me. My father's name is Venugopal Reddy; he is a farmer. My mother's name is Raghavendramma; she is a homemaker. I have two siblings—an elder sister, Akshitha, who is doing B.Tech, and a brother, Sai Karthik, who is studying in 9th standard. My grandmother, Bhagyamma, and my immediate uncle, Nagi Reddy, also live with us. They help my father in farming.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I am a JNV student aspiring to become a doctor, but I cannot afford coaching fees. Dakshana is the perfect platform for someone like me. If I had not been selected, I would have attempted NEET 2026 through self-study.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
The ambition of my life is to become a good and responsible doctor, rather than just the best, and to acquire and share knowledge as much as I can.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
When I become successful, I want to establish an organisation and provide good-quality education to those who cannot afford it, just as Mohnish Sir did. Even if I am unable to do so, I would still not stop donating, because I know the pain of suffering. Rather than only getting ranks, I prefer people to acquire more knowledge so that they have wider opportunities in the future. I want to help people acquire more knowledge.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
I came across two incidents in my life which motivated me to do better. 1st incident: The descendent of Shri Bhaktha Ramanujan, Shri Chinnanjiyar Swami, was a graduate from the best universities of the U.S. One day, he was at a point of deciding whether to continue the ritual of his family or to continue his studies and job. He left everything and solely dedicated his life to God and took celibacy. What I learnt from him is to take wise and appropriate decisions while keeping family honor in mind. 2nd incident: One of my cousin’s father met with an accident when my cousin was a kid. He lost his leg in that accident. But by doing a lot of hard work, he provided resources and stability for his child’s education. What motivated me is that despite tough situations, we have to remain steadfast, just like he did for his family.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I have interest in calligraphy writing, reading novels, collecting quotes from novels, writing in my diary, and watching sci-fi movies.
