Gyanaranjan Das

JNV Kalahandi Odisha
I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical College

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I am Gyanaranjan Das, living with my happy family. In our home, my father, mother, younger brother, and I live together. My father is a pathologist; he treats patients and has a small medical shop. My mother is a housewife; she does all household work and likes watching TV serials. My brother, Smrutiranjan Das, is studying in JNV. He is good in studies and likes playing cricket with me. My father likes watching cricket matches. Our whole family depends only on my father's income. My mama is an employee in a private company, and my chacha also has a medicine store. We are a happy family.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I want to become an MBBS surgeon, and for that, I need to study in a good medical college. But I cannot afford coaching for my preparation. Dakshana provides world-class coaching to needy students like me. I can fulfil my dream through this scholarship. I am very happy to be selected for JDST, and my parents are also happy. If I am not selected for Dakshana, I will join a low-fee coaching centre or continue online study, because becoming a doctor is my only dream.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
First, I want to become a good person and then a successful man. I will fulfill my own and my parents’ dreams. I want to be a good doctor and contribute to society and our country. I want to earn enough money to support my family. My ambition is to become a stable man socially and economically.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
Society needs good doctors as diseases are spreading day by day. When I become successful, I will contribute to society by guiding students about career choices and financial independence. I will share my mistakes and experiences, donate to the Dakshana Foundation, and develop my village.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
Many incidents have occurred in my life which motivate me. When I talk with my parents, they motivate me. Motivational speeches also inspire me but not for long, so I introspect myself. When I came to Dakshana Valley, my parents cried leaving me there, and they hoped I will become a doctor and a good person. This motivates me to make my parents, teachers, villagers, and myself proud.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I like to talk with my best friend, play games with my friends, listen and sing songs, and attend classes to learn new things. I want to travel to new places with my best friends. I like talking to my grandparents and helping others. I also like to fantasize about impossible things. These are my hobbies and interests.
