I live in a nuclear family with four members. My father, Shri Jaladhar Sahoo, is a businessman. He is a very kind-hearted, honest, truthful, and loving man. He is my superhero. My mother, Smt. Babita Rani Sahoo, is a housewife and is very lovely. She is the best woman in my life. My sister, Ms. Sriya Sahoo, is a student in Class 9 and is very loving. She is my dearest. We all live happily in our family and face all ups and downs with strength. My mama is a taxi driver, and my chacha is a labourer in a company.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
If I am awarded the Dakshana Scholarship, it will be a proud moment and a great honour for me, as my dream of clearing Dakshana will come true. I will use this scholarship with happiness and discipline. I will do my best to gain more knowledge from teachers and try to be a ranker for Dakshana.
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
First of all, I want to be a good human being in my life. My ambition is to become a doctor. My parents have done so much for me for the last 18 years. My duty is to do something for them for the rest of my life. I want to take care of my parents my whole life, just as they have cared for me.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
My aim is to be a doctor. Every day, I see people dying due to lack of medical facilities or money to pay high bills. Many cannot afford good treatment. I will treat all such poor people without taking any charges. I will serve the country and society. I will open a hospital with the best facilities at low cost and provide medicines for free.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
There are many incidents in my life, but one incident that motivated me to become a doctor is that when I was 12 or 13 years old, my eyes got infected with severe papilledema disease. I lost hope to see further in my life. But the doctors, also called the second gods, treated me and saved my eyes without any surgery in only 20 days. I was just being treated with medicines and drips only. This incident changed my view towards doctors, and from that day, I was determined to be a doctor in my life. Also, I have heard one day that doctors of SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Odisha, had joined the cut hand of a girl. This makes me have more respect for doctors. I really, really want to be a doctor.
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My favorite subject is Biology. I read Biology a lot. My hobbies are reading books and singing. I feel motivated and relaxed when I read different types of books. I feel happy reading them, and I am also a good bathroom singer. I sing very well.
