Yash Sahu

JNV Seoni Madhya Pradesh
I'd like to become a Dakshana scholar and hopefully attend IIT

Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
I live in a nuclear family with my parents, two elder sisters, and one elder brother. My father, Mr. Veernarayan Sahu, is a small businessman who sells grain from one merchant to another. My mother, Mrs. Sandhya Sahu, is a homemaker who makes delicious food and usually takes all the decisions in our family. My elder sister, Srishti Sahu, is a primary teacher in a state government school and she loves playing badminton. My second elder sister, Purvi Sahu, teaches tuition for the JNV entrance exam. My elder brother, Om Sahu, is an excellent and the most intelligent person in our family. He secured AIR 687 in JEE Advanced 2024. He loves studying and playing basketball. My grandparents live in the village.

Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
I belong to a poor family and we cannot afford expensive coaching. My dream is to become an IITian, and for my better studies, I need the Dakshana Scholarship. It will give me opportunities to reach better IITs and help my country. If I am not selected, I would study from random YouTube teachers, and maybe I won’t be able to achieve my dream. So this scholarship is very important for me. After getting it, I will always remain grateful to Dakshana.

Q3. What is your ambition in life?
My ambition in life is to become an IITian and an ideal son. I want to be rich after becoming an IITian because money makes people powerful, and powerful people can do anything in this country.

Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
Being successful is a relative term for me. Being successful means earning a large amount of money just like Mohnish Pabrai sir. After making enough money, I could do anything for my country without thinking about the money. I will open a coaching centre for poor students in villages so that they can first go to JNVs or KVs, and their future becomes secure till class 12th. I will also do something for JEE/NEET/CAT/UPSC aspirants so they can study better for their competitive exams.

Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
When my elder brother was joining IITD as a BTech student, I was with him, seeing the beauty of the most prestigious institute of India. When I went there, I saw people from all around the country, and I also noticed how talented and hardworking they are. In front of them, I felt like nothing. That day inspired me, showing that I am nothing compared to them. Also, my parents have sacrificed many things for my studies, so I want to pay them back by giving all the possible happiness they want in their life. This motivates me to do better in my life.

Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
My interest is in watching movies, web series, and reading fictional story books by authors like Chetan Bhagat and Collen Hoover. I also have an interest in travelling and knowing about people from different diversities. My hobbies are playing basketball and gossiping. My favourite movie is Sita Ramam, and my favourite web series are Money Heist and GOT.
