Priyanka Kisan
JNV Sundargarh Odisha I'd like to become a Dakshana Scholar and hopefully attend Medical college
Q1. Introduce your Family to us ?
Coming from a ''KISAN" background, my father is a farmer. We generally cultivate Rice which is the basic source of our income. Lacking opportunities in his childhood, he understands the true worth of good education. My mother is a housewife, but a true inspiration in many ways. Last but not the least, my younger sister is in class 6th and studying in JNV(which I still can't believe that she has made it because she was actually a below average student. My father worked hard with her to improve. As a result she also secured rank 1 in other class 6th entrance tests.
Q2. Why should you be awarded the Dakshana Scholarship?
DAKSHANA is a dream of every Navodayan. Since class 9th I wanted to be a part of Dakshana 2-year Program to improve my standard of preparing National competitive exam NEET. But unfortunately in class 10th I was not selected which depressed me. So I wanted to give my best in class 12th because I believed in myself that nothing can stop me this time .
Q3. What is your ambition in life?
Since the beginning of our education we are asked this question. And we easily say any kind of profession that we are fascinated with. But with time I have realized the depth of it. being a Doctor is not just a profession. I want to dedicate my work to give useful and beneficial service to my community because that is the biggest satisfaction in life.
Q4. How would you like to contribute to the society and the world when you become a successful?
In today's science era, the solution to any problem is just a minute away. There is talent and skill everywhere but it needs a right platform to get itself expressed. There are a numerous good examples. And I also want to be a part of such institution to help those who are in it's deepest needs, especially poor tribal kids. If they are given the proper means and opportunities , there won't be a large difference between the rich and poor section of our society. Reducing this difference will ultimately result in the progress of our nation.
Q5. Describe an incident in your life that has motivated/inspired you to do better
I have always believed that mistakes are the best teacher that you can learn from. I was not the smartest student in my class and I just studied as much as I could. The topper in our class was very intelligent. When we became friends i used to study with her, discuss all my doubts. And in the final exam I secured one marks more than her becoming the topper. This made me realize that there is no criteria or pre requisite talent to enter in any competition. It depends at what rate we are working to improve our skills. " NO ONE LOSES ,WHEN THEY NEVER GIVE UP.''
Q6. Tell us about your interests and hobbies?
I loved to watch Discovery channel all day long and science fiction movies as Marvel. I also read a lot of novels which indirectly helped to improve my English.
