The Dakshana Foundation has a very small, hard-working
staff. We need volunteers to augment our efforts. There are
many different ways one can volunteer at Dakshana. Some of
our specific needs at this time are for volunteers who are:
- IIT Alumni based close
to Pune, Bangalore, Kota (Rajasthan), Bokaro
(Jharkhand), Lucknow and Patiala. These alums can serve
as mentors/role models/supplemental tutors for our
incredibly bright and driven Dakshana Scholars at these
various locations.
- Hindi to English Translators. Many of
our Dakshana Scholar Application essays are in Hindi and we
need these translated periodically. These volunteers can be
anywhere on the planet and need to have exceptional Hindi
reading and English writing skills.
- Expert Web Developers. We’d like to
setup a lifetime email address system for all Dakshana
Scholars like the one Harvard Business School has for
its alumni. (http://www.alumni.hbs.edu/alumni_network/lefa_benefits/lefa.html).
So, every Dakshana Scholar would get a lifetime email
address when they become a scholar (e.g.
Tanuj.Kumar07@dakshanascholar.org)
Volunteers can get involved as
much or as little as they'd like.
Volunteering at Dakshana can be
enormously satisfying. We are able to provide you with
good support and an awesome opportunity to give back. If
you have an interest in volunteering, please send an
email to
volunteer@dakshana.org. We look forward to hearing
from you.
